On 11 May 2022, the Chinese Ambassador to Italy Li Junhua gave an interview to the Italian media Ansa.
It dealt with the issue of China's position in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, Italy-China relations in the light of the pandemic situation and the new geopolitical scenario, the new Covid waves in China and the Chinese policies undertaken to maintain the balance between the fight against epidemic and economic development and finally the Taiwan issue.
