With reference to the fight against Covid-19, Ambassador Li highlighted China's scientific, open and collaborative approach, which has already hosted two WHO expert missions and published a joint China-WHO report on the origins of the coronavirus,opposing any political manipulation of the pandemic.
On China-Italy relations, Ambassador Li indicated the importance of the global strategic partnership and the growth of bilateral trade between the two countries with excellent future prospects, especially for people to people exchanges in view of the passage of the next Winter Olympics from Beijing in 2022 to Milan-Cortina in 2026.
On China-Afghanistan relations, Ambassador Li recalled that diplomatic relations between the two countries began in 1955 and that Afghanistan joined the New Silk Road, benefiting from infrastructure projects linked to this initiative and which have been appreciated. by the Afghan people. The Ambassador then indicated that Western countries and China should support the peace and stability of Afghanistan while respecting national sovereignty and the principle of non-interference and cutting all ties with terrorist organizations.
On geopolitical relations in the Pacific area and in particular on China-US relations, the Ambassador said that China has no interest in starting a "hot or cold" war, but hopes for peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation for the good of the entire international community.
