All five BRICS countries have expressed their opposition to the sanctions on Russia for their repercussions on the global economy, which result, for example, in increases in the prices of raw materials and which transform the economy into a weapon. The meeting also discussed the possibility of creating an international payment system alternative to Swift.

At the end of the summit, the BRICS adopted a joint declaration made up of 75 points including: the commitment to multilateralism, to cooperation based on mutual respect, justice and equality, to the need for a global reform of the UN (in particular of the Council of Security), the commitment "to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all States" and to the "peaceful resolution of differences and disputes between countries through dialogue and consultation".
