On December 7, 2021, Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang and Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo met in a video conference on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Belgium.
The sectors of greatest cooperation for the two countries are those of biomedicine, microelectronics and modern agriculture.
Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said: "Both China and Belgium are staunch defenders of free trade. China is willing to strengthen dialogue, coordination and cooperation with Belgium in multilateral frameworks and to work together to face global challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic ".
Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo said Belgium will work with China to support free trade and oppose trade protectionism and play an active role in promoting the healthy and stable development of EU-China relations.
