On May 28, 2019 Lifang Dong, President of Silk Council, participated in both the 9th World Chinese Overseas Communities Friendship Conference and the 1st Council of 5th Chinese Overseas Friendship Conference at the People’s Great Hall in Beijing.
The same day Xinhua News Agency Beijing Reported: the CPC Central Committee General Secretary and State President Xi Jinping met the Ninth World Conference of Chinese Overseas Friendship Association and the First Summit of the Fifth Chinese Overseas Friendship Conference, on behalf of the CPC Central Committee, the State Council, to express his warm welcome and sincere congratulations to Chinese Overseas representatives around the world. Xi Jinping together with the main Chinese leaders shook hands and took pictures with the Chinese Overseas delegation.
More than 450 Chinese Overseas Community representatives from more than 90 countries and regions attended the conference. We would like to thank the President Xi Jinping, the main Chinese leaders and the organizers for this wonderful experience of bringing together the representatives of Chinese Overseas Delegation selected from five continents. We are honoured to have Silk Council president, Ms. Lifang Dong, participate to this successful event and we thank members, friends and family for recognition and support throughout the years.
